About Helix Sleep

Helix makes two different lines (Helix and Helix LUXE) of hybrid mattresses. Each model has different specifications and a specially designed, easy-to-use Sleep Quiz on their website can help you determine which one is right for you and your partner.

The standard Helix mattresses are 12 inches thick and have 4 layers, while mattresses in the premium Helix LUXE line are 14 inches thick and have 6 layers. Helix also makes a mattress specially designed for heavier weight sleepers.

The Helix Midnight LUXE is our top pick, but with all the Helix options available, you can definitely find the perfect one to fit your specific sleep preferences.

METRICSRATINGDETAILS
Motion Isolation EXCELLENTHelix beds are excellent at isolating motion. Especially LUXE models, which have three different layers of foam as well as a pillow-top design to help with absorbing movement across the surface of the mattress.
Durability GOODYou can expect your Helix mattress to last the standard lifespan of a hybrid mattress: 7 years or so.
Huggability GREATWith firmness options from very soft to very firm and multiple comfort layers, you can find a Helix that perfectly conforms to the contours of your body.
Odor EXCELLENTMost beds that come compressed in a box have strong off-gassing. Helix mattresses have virtually no off-gassing smell.
Temperature GREATHelix and Helix LUXE models are made with breathable foams that allow for very good airflow through the coils and a cooler night’s sleep. LUXE models also come with an ultra-breathable cover.
Edge Support AVERAGEHelix beds offer average edge support, likely due to the upper layers of memory foam.
Noise GREATDespite having springs, Helix mattresses are very quiet. As quiet as any mattress with springs can be.
Sex GOODThe spring system in Helix mattresses gives them good bounce. Firmer models will feel more springy for couples that prefer more responsiveness.
Does Helix have the right mattress for me?

It’s safe to say yes! Helix Sleep has 15+ mattresses between its standard and LUXE lines, ranging in firmness from soft to firm and price from very low to competitive luxury. Helix’s online Sleep Quiz will help you identify which is best suited to your needs.

We recommend the Midnight LUXE. It’s a luxury, medium firm choice that provides great support and body-hugging whether you sleep on your stomach, back or side. But if you’re a side sleeper who likes a sinking-in kind of feel, you’ll likely do best with the softer Sunset or Sunset LUXE. If you like a firmer mattress and tend to sleep on your back or stomach, the Twilight, Twilight LUXE, Dawn, or Dawn LUXE would be optimal for you. And there are options in between.

For heavier-weight sleepers, there’s the Helix PLUS. They’ve also recently introduced an all-natural, eco-friendly mattress called Birch.

Layers & Construction

All standard models have the same basic construction and all LUXE models have the same basic construction, but will vary slightly from model to model to achieve desired firmness levels.

  3. Memory Plus Foam
